Sustainable Urban Drainage Schemes (SUDS) are a new environmentally friendly way of dealing with surface water run off and avoid problems associated with convential drainage.
There are many benefits of using SUDS such as controlling flooding, enhancing the environment and that they blend into the natural landscape.
Guidance for development and maintenance is through Sewers for Scotland 2, legislation to incorporate SUDS into all new developments.
