Who We Are
Waterwatch ScotlandĀ is the national complaints handling authority for all domestic and non-domestic water customers and consumer representative body for the water industry in Scotland.
Our role is to:
- Investigate Complaints
- Represent Customers’ Views and Interests
- Influence Policy
- Inform & Advise
Our responsibility for second tier complaints handling means that we can take forward individual customer grievances against water providers.
We can also make statutory recommendations to Scottish Ministers, the Scottish Government, Scottish Water and other industry regulators on customers’ behalf including: Scottish Environment Protection Agency, Drinking Water Quality Regulator and the Water Industry Commission for Scotland.
We can report on any matter that we understand to be relevant to water customers and in the customer’s best interest. We represent customers using evidence produced by complaints handling processes and public meetings in each of our five Regional Panels. Evidence is taken forward by our four National Committees.
